(Delayed!) reaction to Sunday’s League win and a round up of the other games.

After giving them time to dry out;) our roving reporter got the thoughts of defender Hannah Roberts and striker Summer Evans after Sunday’s league win at Moorways;

Hannah: “they were the worst conditions I’ve ever played in but I’m buzzing to get the win!” (RR: you’ve obviously not played at Buxton very often!? :D)

Summer: “It was ridiculously wet in the second half but great to start the league with a win”
On her goal: “Annie did well to get to the ball and keep it in, before putting in a good cross across the six yard box. I managed to meet it at the near post to turn and shoot, and was obviously pleased to see it go in”.

Round up
In the other League games played on Sunday, Wirksworth Colts put five past Chesterfield Inspire Blues without reply, whilst Hasland went to Belper Town and came away with three points, thanks to a 3-0 win.

  • Pride Park 3-1 Mickleover Sports
  • Belper Town 0-3 Hasland Community
  • Wirksworth Colts 5-0 Chesterfield Inspire Blue

Division 1 Table

Although it’ll be a few more games before any pattern emerges, there are currently five teams from 3rd to 7th Level on 3 points, at this early stage of the season - so with Pride Park and Hasland among them, something has to give when the teams meet next Sunday.
