Karen will work to ensure that we continue to demonstrate the Club's commitment to ensure that football provides a safe, friendly and enjoyable experience for all our children and young people. She will work with the Committee to ensure that all the club policies and practices are in place and up to date, such as our Safeguarding Policy and supporting documents. We adhere to the FA Policy for Safeguarding Children; all of the adults and children aged 16+ who work with children are DBS checked.

Whilst everyone has a responsibility for safeguarding at Pride Park, as CWO, Karen will be the first point of contact for any member, volunteer, young person or parent for any issue or concern relating to child welfare, poor practice or potential/alleged abuse. Karen has completed the FA Welfare Officer Workshop and will know what to do in order to help, or who to ask for further support and will work closely with the Derbyshire FA and their Designated Safeguarding Officer, Jenny Blewitt.

It makes sense to have more than one CWO, especially as our junior numbers expand. David retains his CWO qualification and will continue to provide back up and support to Karen, and will be available in her absence
