A round up the weekend’s action featuring our junior teams from our reporters

U10 v Chellaston
The Girls put in a good performance against a confident Chellaston side, showing the work undertaken in training is reaping rewards as they came out strong. Pride Park didn’t give Chellaston much time on the ball, closing down and defending well. Summer was a prime example of the 100 percent commitment the girls showed with excellent tackling across the pitch.

The result was an evenly balanced first half. Chellaston came out strongly in the second half with some good passing and attacking play but The Pride maintained a solid defence until the final 15 minutes.
Without our usual goalkeeper, a special mention to the excellent Evie who undertook the role of goalkeeper superbly, looking confident and making some great saves!
A strong defensive performance which showed the girls’ grit and determination. Well done Pride Park!
Andy

U8 Jaguars v Chellaston
Another game and another step forward in the Jaguars development. The first half saw Gabbie and Freya playing up front, with Amber and Esther in defense and Rose in goal. The game was end to end with Gabbie and Freya winning the ball in midfield and making runs towards the Chellaston goal. Amber and Esther in defense were extremely solid, making some important challenges and stopping the Chellaston attacks. Devina came on from the subs bench and gave another 110% performance.

In the second half, Devina went in goal and Rose took up the forward role and she responded with a brilliant run forward and shot.

The performance from all the girls was excellent and they are starting to show the makings of a good team. Lucy and Kara were unfortunately unavailable this weekend, and we all hope you’re both back soon. Well done girls!

U9 Lionesses v Duffield
Georgia and Emily shared the goalkeeping duties with a half each, and both were fantastic, behind a great defensive showing by Emily, Daisy and Zoe against a determined Duffield team.

It was great to see Isabellas confidence growing, putting in some terrific tackles to stop attacks. Edie gets really stuck in and is really persistent, and Ruby and Zoe made a formidable partnership too. There were some mazy runs and layoffs by Edie, Ruby and Isabella, and terrific shots by Zoe, Ruby, Georgia and Daisy.
Well done girls!! ?? ⚽️
