Rounding up the action featuring our mini-soccer teams on Saturday with reports if the u9 Jaguars and u10 Lionesses’ games

u9 Jaguars v Shardlow.
The girls kicked off in their usual formation and from the first second the girls went on the attack, penning Shardlow in and keeping them on the back foot.

Amber or-was-it-Messi causing all sorts of problems for Shardlow. She must have had her Weetabix for breakfast! Rose in her usual midfield role breaking up Shardlow’s play, dribbling the ball forward and topping it off with a great strike, Freya was hardworking and industrious in attack. Zara in midfield working so hard and being competitive, as well as getting in a great shot. In defense Kara, strong and assured. Esther dependable and always in the right place at the right time - a talent that can’t be taught - she’s just got it. When she was called into action Alicia was her normal cool and assured self.

Upfront Lucy was constantly moving into good positions, giving the opposition lots to think about. Tiana in defense decided that Shardlow “shall not pass” with a number of tackles and important clearances.

The second half carried on in the same vein. Kara went into goal and Alicia was unleashed into an outfield position and put in a really good second half performance. Shardlow showed grit in defence and between them the two teams put on a terrific, enjoyable game to watch.

A fantastic team performance by everyone and an immensely proud set of parents. Player of the match went to Amber-nino. A fantastic performance and she’s set the bar high now. But importantly the team have set the bar high now for future games. A great game girls and a pleasure to be in attendance.

U10 Lionesses v Beeston
A really positive game for the girls yesetrday; they've bounced back from last week full of energy and determination. Excellent throughout with Pride Park showing confidence, strength and nice teamwork. There were a couple of lapses of concentration, but otherwise it was an overwhelmingly positive.

Couple of highlights: a beautifully placed pass from Isabella, put a dangerous looking Zoe into the final third, running at the Beeston goal... What a strike from Zoe rattling the woodwork, followed up by a neat chip over the keeper (and over the goal line but not given). Should have given us a goal but ended up going wide after a goal mouth scuffle.

And in the dying seconds of the game, another excellent attacking pass, this time from Georgia, saw Emelia run onto the ball with pace and skill along the right wing, keeping the ball close, outrunning the Beeston backs (and everyone else), again a nicely stuck shot at pace, just glanced off the post to go wide - what a shot, and a confidence boost to Emelia and the team. Well done everyone
Gary
