Pride Park play some delightful football on a sunny Sleetmoor Saturday morning.

Pride Park were hosted by Sleetmoor United on a glorious sunny Saturday morning. The grass pitch was in great condition and supporters in fine voice, giving the occasion a real buzz. Pride Park kicked-off and went straight on the attack with a nice high ball from Ruby in midfield to Yumi running up the right wing. Pride Park played the ball well down both sides, creating solid build ups and opportunities. A goal came within 10 minutes with a pass from Patsy to Eloise on the left, who ran and played the ball beautifully down the line to Anya, who sprinted over from centre and took the ball into the corner and crossed it into the box to Yumi who arrived just in time at the far post to slot it in. Pride Park continued to play flowing football throughout the first half, resulting in a calm finish from Brooke who found space in the box and another from Yumi. However, Sleetmoor Utd didn't relent and created some good opportunities. The hosts took a fantastic shot, needing Taylor, Pride Park's goal keeper, to make a superb fully outstretched flying save, which drew cheers and whoops from all supporters, coaches and both lines persons!

Unfortunately our Blues took a couple of injuries in the first half, and the heat was taking its toll on both teams. This made it more difficult for Pride Park or Sleetmoor to make clear progress in the second half. With Sleetmoor's supporters getting behind their team, Patsy kept Pride Park focused and they dug in, defended well and managed to create some more opportunities.

After the match Andy, the manager said: "I'm really proud of the players today. It was our first hot match and they worked hard. The team were fantastic today, especially in the first half. We've talked about finding a blue shirt, the options they have and decision making and we can see that coming into their game. Taylor's save was great and I loved seeing our team congratulating her! Also, thanks to Anya who due to team injuries used her energy in various positions today. Finally, well done Lillie, she was always there, intercepting balls and playing them forwards."
