It wasn’t possible for the full team to be there due to holidays, unfortunately, but those that were able to make it had a great time as player escorts for Derby County Women’s National League fixture against Wolverhampton Wanderers women at the Don Amott Arena, Mickleover on Sunday.
The Girls walked out onto the pitch with the players, and took part in the pre-match handshakes between the teams and with the match officials, as well as taking part in a fun competition on the pitch at half-time.
The players posed for photographs with the girls after the game and Derby County team manager Sam Griffiths and the players signed the girls’ autograph sheets.
Here’s what some of the Diamondshad to say about the experience;
“I enjoyed going on the pitch and meeting the players, it was good to meet the newest players early from the start of the season” - Lizzie
“I liked going on the pitch, playing with Ewie and mostly enjoyed watching a DCFCW game with friends from my team. Come on you Ewes!!”- Frankie
