1st team coach Jamie Robinson and team manager David Kwiatek have informed the club and 1st team squad they are stepping down from their roles. The decisions have been made independently of each other and are not related to the application for promotion to the Regional League.
Jamie Robinson joined the club four years ago and has been instrumental in the team’s most successful period, during which they have won the Derbyshire County FA Womens Plate (after being a beaten finalist the previous year) and DGLL Challenge Cup before finishing this season as Derbyshire League champions with an unbeaten record.
Jamie said “The memories of games and training sessions over the seasons will forever remain with me and I have had the pleasure of seeing the players grow individually and as a team. I have really enjoyed my team with the team and leave with nothing but good memories”.
Referencing the team’s recent successes, he added “This season the team has reaped the rewards of their efforts, but, of course, silverware is not everything, for "rewards" come in different ways.”
Team manager David Kwiatek is also stepping down, bringing to an end an association with the team spanning over 20 years, 17 as team manager and a total of almost 340 games, including 265 at open age; “It’s something I thought long and hard about over the course of the season and have concluded it is time for the next generation to bring the energy, enthusiasm and fresh impetus to take the team forward.”
“This season has exceeded all expectations and has by any measure been a season to remember! I’ve always known the team had the potential to win the league and am delighted for the players that they have done it, and in some style - and it’s nice for Jamie and I to go out on a high!
“All good things come to an end, and I have thoroughly enjoyed the last 20+ years. It’s been a pleasure and a privilege to coach this team over the years and to see the players grow - as players and people - some of them for over the full 20 years - and to witness the team’s development. It’s a fantastic group and I know that whoever comes in has a great bunch of players to work with and still more development to come.”
The club is now looking to recruit a new management and coaching team - expressions of interest can be sent to secretary@prideparkfc.com.
