The almost impossible task of picking a Goal of the Season was completed, despite the 1st team scoring 140 goals in all competitions.

There were goals of all types to appeal to every taste - whether you like a 30 yard banger in the top corner, a poacher’s instinct to take an opportunity, patient and intricate build up and a smart finish, a quick and mazy dribble that leaves defender’s in the striker’s wake, a piece of individual creativity, ingenuity or spontaneity - or a combination of these, they were all there.

The winner, chosen from all of these, and announced at the 1st team's end of season social event at The Orange Tree on Friday night was what was commonly known as “Sophie’s Adventure”, scored by centre back Sophie Ayton in the game at Ashbourne at the beginning of October, after a run upfield to get on the end of a flowing move and apply a deft lobbed finish.
