What is the Squad Girls Football programme?
The aim for this new and exciting programme is to provide girls between the ages of 12-14 a fun, relevant and engaging recreational offer that allows them to develop themselves as much as their football skills in a safe, inclusive environment.
The Squad Girls Football programme aims to offer girls fun, relevant and engaging sessions that will allow them to develop themselves as well as their football skills in a safe and inclusive environment. Specifically designed to give the girls a choice and a voice when taking part in the sessions, it also aims to give them the freedom to develop their social identity, become a valued member of a team as well as building their own self-confidence through the fun and flexible approach of the Squad Girls Football programme.
The sessions are suitable for complete beginners, as well as Girls that have played previously.
When are the sessions?
Squad Girls sessions will be held on Tuesdays from 6-7pm
Where are they held?
At Moorways Sports Village, Moor Lane, Derby DE24 9HY
How much do sessions cost?
Individual turn up and play sessions cost £3, but by booking on for the series and paying monthly, it works out at £3 a session (£8/month). There’s no commitment, however - you can cancel your payments at any time without penalty.
What will I need?
Sessions are on grass, so a pair of trainers (and another pair of shoes/trainers if it’s wet!). Specialist football kit isn’t required - suitable clothing to be active is perfectly fine – but if you do have a favourite football shirt, you’re welcome to wear it!
We suggest bringing layers you can put on/take off easily according to the weather and how warm it is, and a drink.
