Pride Park u10 Lionesses had a great time as player escorts for Derby County Women’s National League fixture against Huddersfield Town at the Don Amott Arena, Mickleover on Sunday.

The Girls walked out onto the pitch with the players, and took part in the pre-match handshakes between the teams and with the match officials, as well as taking part in a fun competition on the pitch at half-time.

The players posed for photographs with the Girls after the game and signed the Girls’ autograph sheets.

One of the Lionesses, Edie, summed the experience up for us: „I enjoyed the Derby match a lot; the experience was great! I learnt a lot. I heard them talking to each other and giving each other useful information like “Man on!” “Behind, I’m behind!” “Go on, go on!” The were very excited throughout the game and it looked like they were having so much fun! The players were very kind and sociable and they were smiling all the time. Their celebrations of when they had scored was a MASSIVE pile on!!!!!!!! I really enjoyed it!”

The Lionesses brought luck to Derby County Women who extended their winning run to six games thanks to a late goal by substitute Camille Jenkins to secure a 2-1 win against Huddersfield Town Women.
