Pride Park FC are delighted to announce a new partnership with Impetus, a women’s football website that publishes news, reports and features from all levels of the game around the world.

The club now joins Impetus existing content partnership clubs Wroxham, Ashford Town (Middlesex), Helston Athletic and Bure Valley Youth. The site will also be sponsoring eight players at all levels of the game for 2021/22. In the last few weeks they have announced sponsorship of Republic of Ireland U19 international striker Carla McManus of DLR Waves who play in the top flight of Irish women’s football. Also announced are Lisa Topping at FAWNL Division One North side Chorley Women, Harriet Meers of Wroxham Women in the fifth tier Eastern Region Women’s Football League Premier, Ashley Cheatley of Ashford Town (Middx), one of the most prolific strikers nationwide in tier five women’s football and Paige Walder at Saltdean United. The remaining three players will be announced over the next month on the site, so keep an eye out!

The site was launched in September 2019 and is recognised by the Women’s Sports Alliance. Impetus has grown its audience consistently since October 2020 after an article in support of Sam Kerr after she received abuse on social media was read over 3,500 times globally in the space of 48 hours. The site attracts a large number of readers each week from around the world, with a particularly large audience in Australia, the USA, Sweden and France.

Impetus has three contributors based in Australia, one in France, one in Canada and one in Sweden in addition to a group of seven UK based writers. The site has carried out interviews with international players such as Jonna Andersson, Jenna McCormick and Ella Mastrantonio with several others in the pipeline.

The site’s founder and editor Ben Gilby is also the FA Women’s Super League correspondent for Beyond90, Australia’s leading independent women’s football website for whom he also leads their coverage on the women’s game in Western Australia and South Australia. Ben won the Women’s Sports Alliance’s inaugural media contributor award for women’s sport in April 2020.

Speaking about the partnership launch, Pride Park secretary David Kwiatek said: “We are delighted to have agreed this partnership with Impetus, which will involve the site publishing features about Pride Park FC from the first team down to youth level to their worldwide readership - they have already published a feature article about the club which can be seen here:www.impetusfootball.org/2021/04/15/pride-park-providing-opportunities-inclusivity-in-derbyshire/

“The site has additionally already published number of our first team match reports. We hope it will help raise the club’s profile, and that our content will prove of interest to the site’s readership.

Pride Park are a fantastic and really friendly club and it’s going to be fantastic to work with them over the next year or so.”
