
Pride Park Women get their 2026/27 season underway this Sunday (23 August) when they travel to Netherton United in the Preliminary Round of the Women’s FA Cup.

The opening round of the competition features clubs from Tier 6 (Regional Leagues) and Tier 7 (County Leagues) of the women’s football pyramid, drawn on a regional basis, with 143 Preliminary Round ties taking place across the country.
The Pride, who are competing in the Women’s FA Cup as a Regional League side for the first time, are up against fellow Regional League side Netherton United, who play in Division 1 South of the East Midlands Regional League.

Founded in 1992, Netherton United FC has grown from a local school team into one of Peterborough’s leading community football clubs. The women’s team finished 7th in East Midlands Regional League Division 1 South last season.

Sunday’s fixture will also be the first competitive match for Pride Park's new management team, Kyle Nicholson and Mark Adey.
The winners of Sunday’s tie will face either Allexton & New Parks or Sherwood FC away in First Qualifying Round on Sunday 6 September.
