Among the 1st team end of season awards last Friday a fantastic individual milestone was celebrated for Steph Eadon making her 50th appearance for the team during our away fixture at Buxton on 29th March.
Since joining the club, Steph has established herself as an integral, deeply respected member of the squad, bringing elite experience, technical quality, and an unwavering team-first attitude to Pride Park.
A New Chapter Ahead
While we celebrate this incredible milestone, it comes with the bittersweet news that Steph will not be returning for the upcoming season due to work and family commitments - she will be dearly missed on the pitch and in the dressing room.
A Debut to Remember
Steph arrived at Pride Park with an impressive footballing pedigree, including a spell with Newcastle United. After a period away from the game, she made her club debut in November 2022 in a memorable away fixture against Castle Donington.
It didn’t take long for her to make an impact. Coming off the bench, she took just ten minutes to open her account, finishing the match with two goals and two assists in a dazzling introduction that set the tone for her time with The Pride.

In a neat closing of the circle, Steph's last goal for The Pride was also against Castle Donington. Coming in April in the very game that clinched the league title, it was a spectacular dipping half-volley that went in off the crossbar, perfectly bookending her memorable time with The Pride.

Versatility and Team Spirit
While primarily known for her on-the-ball quality as a dynamic forward or central midfielder, Steph’s time at Pride Park has been defined by her willingness to do whatever it takes for the team.
Whether holding up the ball to bring others into play, towering headers, striking powerful efforts from distance, filling in at centre back or stepping up as a highly competent emergency goalkeeper - her versatility has been invaluable. She has proven to be a true asset, combining technical excellence with the kind of leadership that inspires those around her.
The Numbers
Steph's contribution in the final third has been a constant threat for opposition defences. Across her 53 appearances for the club, she has found the back of the net an impressive 23 times, many from a deep lying role, alongside racking up numerous crucial assists.
Steph brought a wealth of experience and quality to the pitch, but it’s her commitment to her teammates and the team that truly sets her apart. While we are sad to lose her for the new season - and she will be missed - she will always be welcome back at Pride Park.
Everyone at The Pride extends their warmest congratulations to Steph on reaching this milestone, and our deepest thanks for everything she has given to the team. We wish her and her family the absolute best for the future! Congratulations, and thank you, Steph!
