Reports from the Jaguars and Pumas games played on Saturday

u9 Jaguars v Allenton United.
Jaguars started really well, with a terrific move in which Wren combined with Rose, who passed to Freya and she played the ball across goal for Rose at the far post.

Madeline and Holly starting strong in defence, clearing attacks whilst Wren was all over the pitch winning battles....supported by Esther with important tackles and clearances herself. A round of substitutions saw the introduction of Lucy up front, Zara and Katie in midfield, Amber and Esther in defence, all carrying on the good work.

Jaguars continue to make some good passing moves, working with each other to create good chances whilst Holly broke up Allenton counter-attacks, intercepting, tackling and clearing.
Allenton did get their breakaways then they had a tough customer in the form of Holly, who was disposesing and clearing - and on the odd occasion when Allenton got past her Alicia was on hand and showed why she is the number one keeper.

The Girls coming on maintained the level of play, with Rose weaving her magic to link up with Zara in midfield to create more chances. Lucy had a couple of really good attempts on goal, the second going agonisingly wide of the post, both Esthers had good shots, and Rose saw an attempt just shave the top of the crossbar.

All the girls put in an excellent performance, Rose walking away deservedly with the player of the match award for her constant menacing runs up the pitch.

U9 Pumas v Little Eaton Diamonds
The girls were brilliant from the first whistle; competing for every ball, making some excellent blocks in defence when called upon and really limited the opposition’s chances due to their hard work to protect Lily’s goal.

In attack Robyn did exceptionally well to drag the ball away from a goalmouth scramble and get a shot away. Erin was chasing down all game and harassing Diamonds’ players, and set up a chance for Bella after putting pressure on a defender and making her turn into trouble. Ivy won a ball in defence and played through to Millie for a one-on-one withbthe keeper, and Millie also had a shot go narrowly wide. Well done Girls!
