TEAM TALK | MINI SOCCER ROUND UP

TEAM TALK | MINI SOCCER ROUND UP

David Kwiatek26 Oct - 11:00

A round up our teams' mini soccer games played in the Derbyshire Girls League yesterday

u11 Pumas v Field Lane
The girls started off really well with some brilliant passing including a fantastic pass from Millie to put Bella in for a chance. Erin and Bella combined to good effect and Sophie went close on a couple of occasions and also had a great effort following a quick throw by Ivy, from which Dela put a great ball into the box.

In defence, Umayyah, Ivy and Tayla were limiting the opposition to few chances and were backed up by the endless work rates of Millie, Bella, Dela and Mini providing Lily with great protection - although she made a great save late in the first half. Bella T was in goal in the second half and also made some good saves.

As the game drew to a close, Millie won the ball back in midfield, ran a few yards before another great pass to put Tayla in for a great shot.

It was another day where we had numerous players who could have been player of the match but for an all-round good performance, Erin was our player of the match.

u8 Panthers v Coalville Town Ravenettes
A great performance from all the girls and a really committed performance. It was especially pleasing to see the passing and dribbling skills we have been working on in training really starting to show - everyone got their heads up to look for the pass.

As teams settle into the season and become more confident the play is becoming more physical and every girl stood up strong. Emily never let the Coalville defenders settle with her non stop pressure and the girls carried on pressing and chappenging for the ball. Special shout outs to Sia and Ben for going in goal.

Sia was player of the match with her great performance in goal and her fight and determination to get the ball back.
Well done girls.
Scott
