The Ladies are moving to a new home venue. Our new home will be at Moorways Stadium, with our next home game against Mickleover Sports on 23rd December being our first game in our new surroundings.

The Ladies have used Alvaston Park as their home venue since joining the Ladies League in 2014-15, and the junior team from which the Ladies were formed had also played at Alvaston.

However, whilst the pitch there compares favourably to other pitches in the League, the facilities are some distance from the pitch, and access and parking on match days can be challenging. The pitch is also used fairly intensively so can take quite a battering over the course of a weekend before the Ladies take to the pitch on Sunday afternoon,
and its proximity to the river does make it prone to postponement.

Access to and parking at Moorways should be considerably easier, with the car park adjacent to the dressing rooms. The playing surface is expected to hold up better as it benefits from less intensive use, which we hope will translate into fewer postonements, and as the facility is not a public park, it will certainly be less prone to fouling of the non-football variety (dogs are not permitted)!

The switch to Moorways also opens up a number of potential opportunities, and is consistent with and supports the club’s long term strategy to concentrate our activities around a single facility, within a community setting.

With most of our teams now training at Moorways, and our SSE Wildcats Football Centre for Girls also being held there, switching the Ladies to play their home games at Moorways is a natural next step for the Club’s sustainability and development.
