The girls got off to a confident start, moving the ball around in Burton's half and keeping it there. Pride Park came close to scoring in the opening stages and grew in confidence over the first 15-20 minutes. Lillie made a good play on the edge of the box who, looking up, picked out Yumi on the right for a shot. However, the game quickly changed when Burton caught Pride Park on the break with a goal, quickly followed by a second and Burton continued with some dominant play. Pride Park did battle back at times with Eloise making a concerted effort down the left wing and some excellent defending again by Betsy and Patsy. With 10 minutes to go Pride Park turned it back on, with Ruby (who played 3 different positions during the game!) pressuring in the box and Fliss and Lillie making some runs from midfield. The Manager, Andy said "I'd like to thank Lucy, who volunteered to be Goal Keeper at short notice and with little practice time. The girls and the coaches are learning from every match and have the right attitude to close the gap".
