Pride Park Development suffered a 5–1 defeat against Melbourne in a game that could have looked very different.
Despite creating numerous chances, the Devs just couldn’t find their finishing touch, with Melbourne punishing them at the other end.

With a makeshift defence and players playing out of position we still managed to give top of the table Melbourne a real test and kept pushing forward dominating the first half and totally outplayed the opposition with numerous one on one chances testing the keeper who stood up to the challenge

With Melbourne leading 1-0 in the first half after scoring 10min from a corner as we failed to clear the punch from the keeper.

Going in a half time we knew what we needed to do, unfortunately one minute into the second half Melbourne took advantage with a shot that bounced over the diving keeper that seemed to change the dynamic of the second half, the devs still creating plenty of opportunities to score but we just couldn’t find the net.
