It was another tough game for the Lionesses against a well drilled Doveridge yesterday.

The Lionesses played some great football and the first 15 mins went really well for us. We threatened the Doveridge goal and won several corners, plus had a couple of great chances on target. Isabella was having a great game and really performed well, giving it everything she had, and really got stuck in - which was great to see.

There were some fantastic individual performances, but we couldn't find continuity and quality of pass today as a team. Sofia (GK) continues to impress, making some excellent saves throughout the match, she also distributed the ball well.

We saw the girls try some new ideas out, they passed back to our goalie who then made a longer pass forward to a midfielder - nice to see them make that decision and have the confidence to do it. Edie gave it a 100% on the wing and created some good attacking play, we just need to find that through ball into space, which we found difficult against a solid Doveridge defence. We go again next week and will hopefully be rewarded with a goal or two!
