Jasmine & Evie defend with passion/determination, and Zoe digs deep :)

Evie finds herself as our only regular defender, with injury and sickness depleting our back line. A quick reorganisation sees us playing a slightly tweaked formation, with Jasmine joining Evie to make up a back 2 with Myah also dropping back, being a defending midfielder - they all did the job very well. Evie played quality again showing unwavering confidence. And a massive thank you to Jasmine who had a good maturity to her play, she happily joined Evie in defence and absolutely smashed her performance. I thought today she was outstanding, with strength, speed and power that Field Lane just couldn't get past. A real dependable performance that we are so appreciative to see.

Another massive thank you to Layla for spending the second half in goal. With absolutely no goalie experience or training whatsoever she was very happy to go in, so that our regular goalie could enjoy playing outfield.

You could see Sofia really trying hard and making a good impact playing out - with some nice chances at goal and defending well from the front. You could see she really enjoyed the half and it did make the game exciting (and a bit nerve racking at times!).

Zoe, this week's P of M had to work hard and dig deep. But her endurance paid off with several excellent shots on target. Powering through the Field Lane back line, she looked confident and dangerous, and on another day would have bagged a hat trick and then some!

Zoe's second: High clearance from Field Lane lands with Ayla near the half way line. Ayla brings the high ball down and under control with a magnificent touch , and then followed by an excellent pass. The ball is quickly passed on one more to Zoe in the final 3rd. She sees a gap and drives forward beating the Field Lane defence, she takes a touch and fires home a beauty. Loved the goal and the sequence of play leading up to it, especially Ayla's amazing control ?

So many positives, we can't not mention Edie's speed on the left, Lily-May's shots on target and Isabella's hard work and combination play throughout. Jess (Captain) had some excellent moments showing strength, speed and determination setting a good example for the others to follow. Some superb individual performances and given that a few players were trying new positions not a bad effort overall under the circumstances. Well done everyone
