A tough cup tie against a strong Division 1 side, but the Jaguars produced plenty of positives to take into their league campaign. Some great passing throughout the first half saw Freya and Grace go close, and the girls were unlucky to trail 2–0 at the break.
Wren grabbed a deserved goal in the second half after a brilliant run and cross from Rose, capping off an excellent team move. Despite the result, the effort and teamwork were superb.
Player of the match went to Alicia, a super performance full of great saves and communication.
This result means Pride Park now move into the Plate competition once again, a competition the Jaguars have performed well in recent years.
