Pride Park Jaguars 3 Ashbourne Aztecs 4

The Jaguars put in another shift this morning against an Ashbourne Aztecs side, just missing out 4–3 in a really entertaining game. With regular keeper Alicia unavailable, the girls showed real team spirit as Amber, Zara, Wren and Grace all stepped up to take turns in goal – brilliant attitude from all four.

Ashbourne opened the scoring, but Wren hit back with a chip over the keeper to bring the Jaguars level. After the break the Jaguars really got on the front foot, creating plenty of chances and earning their goals through Amber’s tidy finish from the left and Rose’s sharp strike off the post to make it 3-2.

Ashbourne grabbed 2 late goals to win the game, but the effort, work rate and togetherness from the Jaguars was spot on. A special mention to Amber, who had an outstanding game all over the pitch and took her goal superbly to be Player of the Match.
