Pumas 8 - 0 Doveridge

Another dominant display today from the girls who were on it from the first minute right up until the last. Knowing a win could possibly extend their lead at the top of the table, the girls went in search of their 4th win on the bounce and a 4th clean sheet in a row too. A quick start saw efforts from Millie, Bella and Erin and a flurry of corners but the girls were being thwarted. The breakthrough came in some style as Bella from the left hand side whipped a corner in and it flew past everyone and into the back of the net. The girls were up and running and 1 soon became 2. Bella again the scorer after the girls won the ball high in the oppositions half and Bella glided past 2 defenders and buried the ball. Erin was causing problems along with Marcie whipping in some decent balls and the girls were unlucky not to have a larger advantage going into the break as Millie was denied with an effort from range.
Lily in goal was a spectator for the majority of the game. Umayyah was bossing the backline with Dela, Tayla, Poppy, Millie and Bella all dropping in covering a depleted squad that we had. Enya, Amaya and Erin were causing issues galore going forward being backed up by the energetic midfield they had behind them.
Into the 2nd half and much of the same, more attacking and the girls had a 3rd 3 minutes into the second half when Millie scored after a break by Bella, her ball in fell to Amaya who laid it on a plate for Mills to score. A minute later and it was 4, with Bella completing her hat trick after a fierce affort from range found its way into the bottom corner. Then it was Dela’s time to find herself forward and Bella played a floating ball over the top, Dela on the turn applied a brilliant finish into the bottom corner. Straight from the restart and the girls were probing again as Millie won the ball, found Marcie in the box, and she drilled in number 6. Then it was Erin’s turn to get onto the scoresheet, Poppy this time with a brilliant ball into Erin’s path who raced past the defence, cut across the defenders and applied the finish into the bottom corner. Poppy was again involved as she pushed the girls up again and she found Amaya, who drilled a thunderbolt into the top corner. A really good performance, some excellent passages of play from the girls, to go with another clean sheet and some goals in the for column. Our player of the match this week was Erin for a goal and a brilliant all around performance
