The season is drawing to a close but there’s no let up in the action

U8 Jaguars v Chellaston
This was going to be a hard match for Jaguars with only 5 players, especially on such a warm day.

Amber started the game up front making some great forward runs and keeping the pressure on. A great cross almost fell at Freya’s feet, she was just short of the final touch but a great effort!

The Jaguars were very good defensively - Kara was making all important tackles, Esther also made some great tackles and launched counter-attacks with passes forward. Rose made some great full body blocks running out to defend her goal.
In attack, Freya continued to look for opportunities and was getting into great positions to receive the ball. Amber ran forward with the ball with great determination, struck her shot well but it unfortunately hit the post, before rolling to the opposite post and then into the goalies gloves!

In the second half Amber went into goal and Rose was sharing defence with Kara and they were both strong in the tackle and also making runs forward to give the strikers something to work with. Rose put in a great cross which again was only just out of Freya’s reach: so close! There were a number of attacking set-pieces which were taken well, but the defence were able to clear.

As the second-half wore on Chellaston started to ramp up the attack as the girls tired without having any relief from substitutes, but they were digging deep to defend their half. Set-pieces were again taken well, but Chellaston’s defence was proving to be resolute.

The girls continued to fight and Rose made a great run forward through Chellaston’s defence before hitting a hard shot at goal, but the ‚keeper was well positioned and caught the shot. It would have been a great goal!
The girls worked really hard and despite not having any substitutes to call on and tiring towards the end, there were some great moments of play. Well done, Jaguars!

U9 Lionesses v Hilton
It was a fabulous match yesterday which the girls were buzzing about. We started strongly, with Georgia in goal and Ruby doing an amazing job in defence again meaning Georgia didn't have to do as much as previous weeks but when she did, she didn't disappoint with agility and speed of reaction.

Emily and Ava worked hard to retain possession and get the ball down the oppositions side with Isabella and Edie both making some great tackles and Edie rocketing down the pitch with the ball at her feet, looking up and finding space was awesome to watch.

Daisy and Zoe both created some fantastic opportunities that just missed which was a real shame as they worked so hard for them.

The drinks break and then half time were welcomed on such a hot day.

The second half half saw a rejigged side with Emily taking up goal duty and Georgia outfield and clearly on a mission, making some amazing runs and narrowly missing.

More determination to keep the goals at bay this week and the girls pulled together with some amazing footwork again from Daisy confusing the opposition to gain possession and pass down the field to Zoe.

You could see Isabellas confidence has grown massively, Edie worked her socks off again being undeterred by multiple opposition players and tackled away resulting in some fab tackles/assists.

Ruby had a great half again and even made an amazing break down the pitch when she saw an opportunity.

Ava was determined as ever, not giving up and being relentless to ensure we retained the ball as much as possible.

Such a great game. Well done girls

U11 v Hilton
An exhilarating game right from the off on lovely warm and sunny morning as both teams went in front and had to come back from behind during the game. Pride Park are finding some great positions and moving the ball between them really well, playing through balls and switching sides, creating plenty of opportunities. There were great attempts from Lucy, Felicity and Yumi. The girls now need to work on dribbling and moving with the ball to mixup the passing.
