TEAM TALK | MINI-SOCCER ROUND UP

David Kwiatek

It was cup action for our under 9 Panthers yesterday

U9 Panthers v Sleetmoor Utd

First cup game of the season, and what a way to start!

Our Pride Park girls were absolutely brilliant yesterday, coming away with a fantastic win against Sleetmore in their first cup game of the season! But more than the scoreline, it was the togetherness, the smiles, the determination and the way these girls worked so hard for each other that made this such a special performance.

Sofia was on fire, scoring a wonderful hat-trick, while Ben showed great determination in front of goal to grab two, and Priya got herself a well-deserved goal too! What a fantastic effort from our goal scorers!

But football is never just about the goals, and every single girl deserves so much credit today. Emily, Matilda and Paisley worked their socks off, showing great commitment, supporting their teammates and giving everything for the badge. From the hard work off the ball to the encouragement and teamwork throughout the game, every girl played her part in this brilliant result. It’s so lovely to see how these girls are growing in confidence and learning to fight for each other as a team.

A special mention to Diana in goal, who helped the girls secure a lovely clean sheet! This game felt extra special, knowing we only have one more game before Diana moves to Switzerland. We are going to miss her so, so much! She is a valued part of our Pride Park family, and although we are incredibly sad to see her go, we are so grateful for the time we’ve had with her. We will be cheering her on every step of the way!

Days like yesterday remind us that it’s about so much more than football. It’s about friendships, confidence, teamwork, making memories and watching these lovely girls grow together. The effort, the support for one another and the smiles make us so proud of every single one of them.

Six goals, a clean sheet and a whole lot of heart! The Panthers have been drawn against Ashover Juniors in the second round, to be played on 14th November.

Well done, girls. You should all be so proud of yourselves. Keep working hard, keep believing in each other and, most importantly, keep enjoying every minute together. We are so proud of the team you are becoming!
