2. How does the 50/50 Club work?

The basic principle is that of a lottery. Each lottery player regularly contributes a set sum (see below) and is allocated numbers accordingly. There are monthly draws, and the first 3 numbers drawn each month are awarded cash prizes from the pot (the pot represents 50% of the cash received). The club retains the remaining monies which are distributed pro-rata to the teams nominated by entrants to go towards whatever teams are trying to raise funds for.

Each member sets up a standing order payment of either £2 a month or £24 for a year for each number they wish to have in the draw (there is no limit to how many numbers a member can purchase). Each month, 50% of the payments received will be set aside for prizes, and 50% will be retained. This means, if there were 100 numbers sold , this would equate to a prize fund of £100 each month, with prizes of £50, £30 and £20 available to win.

If there are more or less than 100 numbers sold, the number and size of the prizes increase or decrease accordingly.

With 36 prizes on offer during the year there is a good chance of recouping your stake money and a chance of winning more if enough people take part!
